Lush T’eo Solid Deodorant Bar: No Sweat?

First just a little warning: if you find it unsavoury to be discussing sweat and body odour on a (mainly) beauty blog, then you may want to stop reading now.  Or maybe you have an aversion to the word ‘armpits’? Oops, sorry.

Anyway. I can’t say I was specifically looking for a new deodorant when I stumbled on this funny little bar on the Lush website.  The reviews for the Lush T’eo Deodorant Bar were mostly positive though, so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try something a little more natural for a change.  After being mesmerised for about five minutes by the video of someone applying the deodorant, I decided to buy it.

Lush T'eo Solid Deodrant

Lush do describe it as an Anti-perspirant, but I can’t agree with that; it definitely doesn’t stop the sweat.  The idea is that it soaks up the sweat, and therefore nasty odours, with the all natural ingredients.  The bar itself smells like fresh lemons, and it’s solid but flaky, so expect a bit of fallout.  It can be a little bit scratchy on the old pits too.  This doesn’t bother me because it is short-lived, but it may aggravate sensitive skin.  Being dry and a bit dusty, when it is rubbed on the armpits it does leave a white layer behind.  This can transfer to clothing when dressing, but brushes off easily enough.  On the plus side though, there is no drying time – so no sticky pits! Yay!

Most importantly though, how does it perform? My main concern was that it would not cope with sweat effectively, with it being summer, and with me being a sweaty betty.  However, I have found that it manages extremely well.  Yes, there is still sweat (sorry), but I have noticed no odour whatsoever.  I have used it every day for over two weeks, and in that time I have walked; energetically cleaned the house; worked out, and chased kids around.  All with plenty of sweat (look, I’m trying to be honest here) but no smell, other than lemons.  I am seriously impressed with the T’eo deodorant, and I cannot see me giving it up in the near future.   Especially knowing that Lush products don’t contain any nasty chemicals, and are not tested on animals.

Have you tried a natural alternative to the humble deodorant?  If so, what has worked for you?

    1. Hi, yes I am. It definitely stops smells for me, but not the sweat (to be fair, I have never come across a product that does). I plan to continue using it and would repurchase.
Thanks for reading. Sorry about the delay in responding to your comment.
